Silas Roy (1949--  ) has lived in Tuba City his entire life. His father is from Hotevilla and his mother from Moenkopi. He was inspired by his uncles to carve and is self-taught. Silas has been carving for 35 years. His favorite katsina to carve is the Eagle. He has two brothers, Coolidge Roy and David Roy, whoare  also carvers.
