Old Style Hopi Carved Turquoise Nose Plug Man Traditional Warrior Katsina Doll by Marc Bilagody
The Turquoise Nose Plug Man (Chospos-yaka-hentaka) is also known as the Kipok or the War Leader. It is said that he comes from the Yuman tribes who wore turquoise nose ornaments. This Katsina appears with the Left-Handed Katsina. He sometimes carries a whip or a handful of arrows to prod the Clowns when they misbehave. Click on numbered boxes below image for additional views.
