Gourd Art by Robert Rivera
Robert Rivera, whose heritage is a mix of Apache, Spanish and French, is a world-renowned gourd artist. His inspiration comes largely from the arts of the Puebloan people whose designs he interprets and expresses in his own work.
In the late 1970s while on a road trip from New Mexico to California, Rivera saw a pile of gourds by the road. At that point these future art pieces were foreign to him. He purchased and painted a few, found an immediate audience, and has been creating fantastic Pueblo gourd art ever since.
Gourd Artist Robert Rivera is as joyful as his art. He is filled with life and the love of life. We are proud to be his exclusive distributor in Sedona, Arizona. Visit our online store or stop in for Pueblo gourd art at Kachina House.
