Ryon is from Shungopavi Village and is of the Sun Clan, he currently lives in Phoenix, AZ. His inspiration for his katsinas comes from his imagination and from his brother Tayron Polequaptewa. Ryon tries to use a lot of character, humor and most of all pride when creating his Traditional or Old Style Katsinas. Patience has a lot to do with his carvings. Not only does Ryon take his time creating them, but he is sure to create them and offer them to the public in the traditional pace of the Hopi people. He tries to make sure each katsina tells an individual story and a bit of its history. The katsinas he creates are ones Ryon has seen with his own eyes while growing up. Last of all they are unique.
