Hair Hungry or Hair Cutter

E-mail this product to a friend

Hair Hungry. The name of this Katsina comes from the Hopi words for a man's hair knot or queue (Nasompi) and hungry; he is the "hair hungry" Katsina. He races with a pair of sheep shears, scissors, or a knife in one hand.

Upon overtaking the challenger, he will fling him to the ground and cut off his hair knot or snip off only a token lock, as he sees fit. This Katsina is one of the few runners who appear consistently in elaborate clothing on all three mesas.
