This peach basket is all hand-woven using sumac. This wonderful plant comes in many colors and the reddish pattern in the center band is the wave pattern. Dorleen was able to study old peace gathering baskets in the archives of the Museum of Northern Arizona in Flagstaff, AZ. She used the basic shapes and then incorporated the weaving style from the Apache Burden Baskets. It is a spectacular piece.
