Native American Hopi Carved Qoqooqlo Storyteller Katsina Doll by Brian Honyouti
Qoqooqlo (Qoqole or Qooqoqlo) is a directional katsina and so he appers here with a yellow face. This is a Second Mesa version that wears buckskins. The more common representation shows Qoqooqlo as wearing Anglo clothing. Qoqooqlo appears during Soyal. He tells stories and prophesies good crops. He brings gifts for the children. He is also responsible for the cleaning of the springs. Click on numbered boxes below image for additional views.
