Native American Hopi Carved Whipper Katsina Doll by Henry Naha
The Whipper Katsina (Talaymatsovo) appears in different colors representing the different directions. He is considered an old Katsina although he is usually impersonated by small boys. His main functions are those of a guard during Angk'wa (mainly at Third Mesa) and responsibility for maintaining order during the ceremony.
