Native American Creek Made Ceremonial Painted Gourd Rattles By La Na Ayo
This rattle is typical of what is used during ceremony. These gourd rattles have paintings of a Sunface, Lizard, Horse, or Turtle. Each of these important symbols for the Native American Indians. The long handle is wrapped in leather and then fabulously trimmed with glass beads. The rattle is usually carried in the right hand of the dancer. This artifact was handcrafted in the southwestern United States by a member of the Creek Nation and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity. Leather, fur, beads and paintings will vary.
