Native American Hopi Carved Deer Dancer Katsina Doll by Milton Howard
The Deer Dancer (Sowi-ingwa) is a social dancer. He helps to ensure that game is plentiful and that sufficient snow comes in the winter to allow a good harvest the following year. This Deer Dancer holds his sticks to imitate the front legs of a deer. This miniature double Deer Dancer was beautifully done by Milton Howard.
