Native American Cherokee Made Counting Coup Skull Cracker by Ondie
The greatest honor a warrior could achieve on the battlefield was to count coup. Shorter weapons such as the skull cracker allowed the warrior to effectively hit his opponent at close range. The scalp locks (horsehair) and the red lines denote battles won. Each line indicates a battle won. This skull cracker is traditionally made from cottonwood, wrapped in deerskin, hand sewn with sinew and decorated with beads, paint and horsehair. Certificate of Authenticity included.
