Ila Lou Lomawaima

Ila Lou Lomawaima (1967-- ) born at Shungopvai, Second Mesa, AZ. She has been carving since she was 18 years old. Her favorite carvings are those of females. Lou carves to keep the prayers of the water cycle going. Without water there is no life. By keeping the prayers going with the cloud people they will give us water. She learned how to carve from Delbridge Honanie. Everyone who knows her calls her Lou. It is wonderful to have a talented female carver, there are not many female carvers.
