Neil David Sr.

Neil David Sr. was born in 1944 at Tewa Villlage (Hano) atop First Mesa. He has been an active carver since the 1950s. He resides in Polacca (First Mesa) is a very well-known Hopi clown carver, though he carves other Katsinam as well. He has made his name carving these humorous figures for many years, for which Neil has won numerous awards. He creates two-dimensional art as well and has drawn and painted artwork for many festivals. He can bring a smile to your face just as quickly when you see his whimsical carvings. Neil is a wonderful Hopi man with a large family and many friends who he has helped throughout the years.
