Native American Laguna Carved Maiden Crown Dancer Wall Hanging Sculpture
Native American Laguna Carved Maiden Crown Dancer Wall Hanging Sculpture by Jacob Warner
This wonderful Laguna Maiden Crown Dancer is not a Katsina at all. This carving is a tribute to women and the pottery they create and the water they carry to the pueblo. Water is life and these women spend much of their time ensuring that their family will not have to go without. This beautiful piece shows the Hopi clouds, rain and lightning on her tablita (crown), and the blue of the water behind her which will fill the pot that she seems to grow from. The pot and the beautifully carved maiden are a great piece by a very talented man.
