Native American Made Pipestone Buffalo Pipe
Description
Native American Made Pipestone Buffalo Pipe by Quentin Crow (dec.)
This is a fully functional peace pipe with a beautiful buffalo pipestone carved bowl (1.25 in. dia. x 3.75" tall) created by Sisseton Wahpeton Oyate artist Quentin Crow. The pipe is spectacular and the sacred buffalo is classic Quentin work. The pipestone is 6" long x 3.75" tall complete. The buffalo is 3.25" long. The wooden stem (18.5" long) was created the old way, by heating a rod and burning a hole in the wood. This is an older piece by Quentin and we are grateful to have it in our shop.
Quentin was a third generation master artist; he specialized in buffalo effigy pipes. Quentin was a grandson of Moses Crow and Estella Crow-Wilson, who settled in the Dakota area around 1927 and worked the pipestone quarries at that early time.
