Native American Jemez Made Storyteller with Two Toddlers

Description

Native American Jemez Made Storyteller with Two Toddlers by Linda Lucero Fragua

Classic storyteller handbuilt and handpainted by Linda Lucero Fragua from Jemez, NM. The woman stands, holding two corncobs. In front of her, standing, are a small boy with a drum and a little girl with a basket. The children are singing right along with mom as she tells them stories of their culture. The storyteller is an adaptation of centuries-old creations in figurine pottery. Cultural traditions and values have historically been passed on by tribal elders through songs an stories geared to teaching the young. It is in these delightful representations that the intense love of the Native American Indians for their children is most clearly shown.
