This wonderful figure with antlers and a penshell necklace represents a Deer Dancer who dances for the increase of the deer so the people will have food. This piece was created from a gourd and is trimmed with fabric and deer suede. Antlers adorn his head and stiff grasses form his headdress. A wonderful tribute to one of the animals that is so important to life for the Native Americans.
