Native American Hatchets & Tomahawks

At Kachina House we carry a vast selection of reproduction Native American tomahawks and hatchets, handmade by artists from various tribes. Crafted and accented with natural materials, we offer unique objects of art and craft.

We carry Weeping Heart hatchets, brass hatchets, jawbone, deer horn, metal, and stone tomahawks. If you’re looking for an authentic, handmade reproduction tomahawk or hatchet, Kachina House can help with your search. Our artifacts are crafted by Navajo, Creek and Apache artists.

A Peace Pipe Ceremony is one where two chiefs meet. The Medicine Man brings the stem of the pipe; one chief carries the bowl and the other the mouthpiece. Each man must do his part or there is no chance for peace. The Smokerhawk or Weeping Heart hatchet has a unique twist to its use. If after the chiefs meet there is agreement, the pipe is smoked and the hatchet is buried. Thisis where the phrase “bury the hatchet” originated. If, on the other hand, the chiefs cannot agree and there is to be war, then blood will spill and hearts will weep. Hence the cut out of the bleeding heart.

Our weapons are genuine reproductions handmade in the southwest. Each piece comes with a certificate of authenticity. If you have been searching for quality, handmade tomahawks or hatchets or other Native American weapons, Kachina House is for you.
