This wonderful pot was handbuilt and handetched by Mata Ortiz resident Cecy Bugarini. This pot features six etched skulls surrounded by a pattern of wind or water symbols. This piece celebrates the Day of the Dead (Día de Muertos) is a Mexican holiday celebrated throughout Mexico, in the Central and South regions, and is acknowledged around the world in other cultures. The holiday focuses on family and friends gathering to pray for and remember those who have died, and help support their spiritual journey. Pottery ring included.
