Native Puebloan Handbuilt Effigy by Lydia Quezada

This effigy pot was handbuilt by Mata Ortiz resident Lydia Quezada. These wonderful effigy pots are recreations of ancient vessels that were found in and around the Paquime/Casas Grandes region of Chihuahua, Mexico. It is believed that these pieces were created to depict regular Paquimanians as they looked at that time. This is a beautiful piece by Lydia with classic Paquime designs combined withh a beautiful face and the stepped top of the pot. Pottery ring included.
