Native American Hopi Carved Stripper Racer Katsina Doll
Description
Native American Hopi Carved Stripper Racer Katsina Doll by Thomas Fredericks
Stripper (Novantsi-tsiloaqa) is a racer who literally tears the clothing off of competitors that he catches. He wears no jewelry because of the potential for damage or loss, though this one is wearing a gato on his left wrist and a bracelet on his right. This interesting carving by Thomas shows other Katsinam around the base. The Dragonfly racer, the Chili racer, Kokopelli Mana who is a copulatory Katsina, the Firewalker who is a corn Katsina, and the Handprint racer. A really great piece by a wonderful carver.
