This is a guard Katsina and Gene Lalo called it Naguuta. It is a Katsina that appeared many years ago and when it did, part of the regalia was bullet casings around his biceps and waist. Gene believes that this Katsina was fashioned after the work of Wilson Tawaquaptewa (1871-1960) who was unique in his efforts to not sell his culture's artifacts. He invented many Katsinam which combined attributes from traditional Katsinam with elements from his own imagination.
