This sweet bear storyteller complete with three cubs was created by Virgil Long, Cochiti, NM. Bear is the guardian of the West. Bear is associated with great strength and is considered to be a powerful healer. This is an older piece by Virgil who for a number of years has focused his artwork on the Pueblo Revolt. We acquired this piece through a private collection.
