Hoho Mana is an "import" from Zuni Pueblo and this maiden accompanies the Hemis Katsina at the Home-Going Dance (Niman). Introduced to the Hopi sometime just before the turn of the century. This is a beautiful little carving by Clarina. It is unusual to see a Hoho Mana carrying all these items. The base has a frog, a sign of water and fertility, that that Hohomana is standing on.
