An "Old Man" (Wuwuyomo), represents wisdom, tradition, and the fertility of crops. Wuwuyomo appears at Bean Dance Powamuya as a benevolent spirit or an elder whose role is to teach the young people about cultural practices. The Old Man also is a reminder to the young to not stray from the Hopi way of life.
