Native American Hopi Handbuilt and Handpainted Pot
Description
Native American Hopi Handbuilt and Handpainted Pot by Delaine Tootsie
This beautiful pot with a fluted top was created by Delaine Tootsie, a Hopi potter who has been making pots since she was a little girl. Her hand-dug clay beds and the designs she uses go back hundreds of years in her family history. All of her designs are symbols for rain. The base of the pot and a couple inches up the side is textured. The rim of the pot has three lines all the way around; the top line has a break in it. The solid lines are for unity; the one with the break is to release negativity. The pattern on the top of the rim is a series of three dots (there are eight in total)--these dots represent Orion's Belt. We are extremely happy to share Delaine's work with our customers.
