Native American Hopi Handbuilt and Handpainted Pot
Description
Native American Hopi Handbuilt and Handpainted Pot by Delaine Tootsie
This pot created by Delaine Tootsie, a Hopi potter who has been making pots since she was a little girl. Her hand-dug clay is multicolored and the designs go back hundreds of years in her family history. This pot is shaped like a flower just opening, a unique piece of Native American pottery. The white band represents a river and there are turtles swimming all across the piece. Turtle is a symbol for water and longevity. Many Native Americans believe we are living on the back of a turtle. All around the top of the top are symbols for water. We are extremely happy to share Delaine's work with our customers.
