Native American Hopi Carved Mudhead Warrior Kachina Doll (Katsina Doll)
Description
Native American Hopi Carved Mudhead Warrior Katsina Doll by Norman Cuch
The Warrior Mudhead (Kipok Koyemsi) frequently appears with the clowns. He functions as a “hunter” of the clowns and sometimes threatens other Katsinam with punishment for misbehavior. The word “Kipok” means “go to battle” or “attacking someone.” This is a wonderful carving by Norman showing the yucca whips that he will punish the clowns with.
