This beautiful Sterling silver overlay pendant featuring a Longhair Katsina was created by Hopi jeweler Willis Humeyestewa. The Longhair Katsinam appear in a group and sing a very powerful melodious song. Their purpose is to bring rain, and it is said that they seldom dance without the appearance of a soft gentle rain to help the crops grow. This pendant also shows a cornstalk as well as prayer feathers. This is a beautiful piece and the overlay is clean and quite deep.
