Native American Hopi Made Sunface and Man in the Maze Pendant--Reversible

Description

Native American Hopi Made Man in the Maze and Sunface Pendant

This amazing older reversible overlay pendant was created by an unknown Hopi silversmith. The pendant features the Sunface on one side and the Man in the Maze on the opposite. The pendant can switch sides while you are wearing it. A wonderful piece of Native American art and culture to wear.

Sunface represents the spirit of the sun. This sun brings warmth, shelter for the old, a bright future, and playfulness for the young and is considered very powerful because the Sun is thought to be the brightest and largest of all the stars and essential to life and growth.

The Great Seal of the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community is this ancient pattern. The pattern figured for untold years in Pima baskets and represents the Maze, or house of “Se-eh-ha.” The legend states the “Man in the Maze” helps children understand the meaning of life. The maze depicts experiences and choices we make in our journey through life. It illustrates the search for balance—physical, social, mental and spiritual. In the middle of the maze are found a persons dreams and goals. Legend says when we reach the center, the Sun God is there to greet us, bless us and pass us into the next world.
