Native American Hopi Carved Deer Dancer Kachina Doll (Katsina Doll)
Description
Native American Hopi Carved Deer Dancer Katsina Doll by Alvin Navasie Sr.
The Deer Dancer (Sowi-ingwa) is a social dancer. He helps to ensure that game is plentiful and that sufficient snow comes in the winter to allow a good harvest the following year. The stick he holds represents the front legs of a deer. This is a wonderful piece by Alvin. We acquired it from a private collector.
