This wonderful Laguna Pot Carrier is not a Katsina. This carving is a tribute to women, the pottery they create and the water they carry to the pueblo. Water is life and these women spend much of their time ensuring that their family will not have to go without. This beautiful piece the maiden wrapped in mantas to keep out the cold. The rain is filling her pot and below her are two other pots awaiting the water from the sky that will fill them. Jacob is the only carver we have seen that uses the bark of the cottonwood for his pieces.
