This rattle is typical of those used during ceremony. These gourd rattles have a variety of laser etched animal totems and symbols. Each of these is an important symbol for Native American Indians. The long handle is wrapped in leather, then fabulously trimmed with glass beads. The rattle is usually carried in the right hand of the dancer during ceremonies. This artifact was handcrafted in the southwestern United States by a member of the Creek Nation and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity. Leather, beads and etching will vary. The artist is phasing out the fur, so we only have a few left with fur trim.
