Native American Navajo Handbuilt Pitch Pot with Horned Toads

Description

Native American Navajo Handbuilt Pitch Pot with Horned Toads by Larrisena Manygoats

This sweet pot with two little horned toads crawling on the outside was handbuilt by Navajo potter Larrisena Manygoats, granddaughter of master potter Betty Manygoats. The horned toad represents Grandfather, health and strength. This traditional piece was waterproofed by dipping the just-fired hot pottery in hot pine pitch. We are grateful to have traditional Navajo handbuilt pottery in our shop. This bowl CANNOT hold liquid.
