Native American Navajo Red Clay Pot with Healing Hands

Description

Native American Navajo Red Clay Pot with Healing Hands by Hilda Whitegoat

This pot is made of red clay and painted and beautifully etched with traditional Navajo patterns. Beautiful healing hands or the Hand of Friendship encircle this pot. The Healer's Hand, also known as the Shaman's Hand, is an ancient symbol of healing and protection. The hand with a spiral in the palm is believed to have come from the Native American hieroglyphs that have been found in a number of places in the southwestern United States. The spiral is a symbol of the individual migration path each of us travels in our life. The spiral can also symbolize the Great Spirit in the afterlife.
