Native American Navajo White Clay Pot with Healing Hand

Description

Native American Navajo White Clay Pot with Healing Hand by Arlene Bennett

This Navajo white clay pot is beautifully etched with traditional symbols and has a Healing Hand or the Hand of Friendship as the focal point. The Healer's Hand, also known as the Shaman's Hand, is an ancient symbol of healing and protection. The hand with a spiral in the palm is believed to have come from the Native American hieroglyphs that have been found in a number of places in the southwestern United States. The spiral is a symbol of the individual migration path each of us travels in our life. The spiral can also symbolize the Great Spirit in the afterlife.
