Native American Jemez Handbuilt Pot with Kiva Ladder and Occupants

Description

Native American Jemez Handbuilt Pot with Kiva Ladder and Occupants by Marcella Yepa

This larger pot is covered with traditional symbols for water, prayers and corn. This unique piece has a kiva step or altar opening with a kiva ladder. The surprise is inside, where a family sits around a fire. One little one has climbed to the top of the ladder to see what is going on outside his home. This piece was handbuilt and fired and painted and polished by Marcella Yepa from Jemez Pueblo, NM.
