This bear was carved by Zuni artists Burt Vernon Lunasee and Prudencia Quam from strawberry serpentine and finished with turquoise eyes. This is a substantial piece and each side looks so very different in coloration. Bear is the guardian of the West. Bear is associated with great strength and is considered to be a powerful healer.
