This Corn Maiden was carved from Picture Jasper with coral, turquoise and jet accents by Danette Laate. The women are honored for the heavy endless task of carrying the water to the people. This is a mature Zuni woman and is dressed in heavy clothing to ward off the winter cold while she carries the pot filled with water on her head.
