Substantial bear carved from jet with turquoise eyes by Zuni artist Arnie Calavaza (1958-2013). Bear is the guardian of the West, associated with great strength and considered a powerful healer. Arnie's carvings rarely come to the market. We have held this one for a number of years, it came from a dear friend of ours who knew Arnie and had this piece in his collection.
