Wonderful bear carved from jet with turquoise eyes and offering bundle by Zuni artist Herbert Halate. This piece is a newer style by Herbert, he has textured the body of the bear to minic fur. Bear is the guardian of the West. Bear is associated with great strength and is considered to be a powerful healer. The offering bundle is meant as a gift offering to the animal spirit. The bundles provide the animal spirit with energy, enhancing its powers and allowing its prayers to be heard more easily.
