Sweet buffalo carved from orange alabaaster with turquoise eyes and horns by Zuni artist Brandon Phillips. The buffalo represents good medicine, the fulfillment of powers and steadfast endurance. The buffalo was the mainstay of the Plains Indians and was used for food as well as shelter, clothing and weapons.
