This wonderful Mother-of-pearl turtle with turquoise shell is accented with coral. A great piece carved by Zuni artist Andrew Quam. The turtle represents Mother Earth and longevity and is used for healing. Turtle also represents water, which in the desert southwest is essential. Many Native Americans believe we are living on the back of a turtle.
