Native American Santo Domingo Made Spiny Oyster and Turquoise Necklace--Vintage
Description
1970s Native American Santo Domingo Made Spiny Oyster and Turquoise Necklace
This wonderful older necklace is made of spiny oyster and turquoise separated with melon shell. Each piece was hand-cut and hand ground into beads. This fabulous older piece is simply strung on sinew and finished with Sterling silver screw fitting. This is a very traditional necklace with a Sterling silver bead that separates the necklace from the jacla of turquoise and spiny oyster. A classic and historic piece of wearable art. Only a couple families did this type of work, we are sorry that we cannot pin down which family would have created this piece.
Dimensions:
29 in. long; bead and jacla hang another 5 in.
