Native American Hopi Handbuilt and Handpainted Pot
Description
Native American Hopi Handbuilt and Handpainted Pot by Delaine Tootsie
This pot created by Delaine Tootsie, a Hopi potter who has been making pots since she was a little girl. Her hand-dug clay is sometimes multicolored and the designs go back hundreds of years in her family history. The inside of the bowl has a dot inside a circle, this is the sipapu. The opening in the base of the Grand Canyon where the Hopi people climbed out into this world. This piece has a wonderful texture on the outside to keep the user from having the pot slip out of his or her hands. We are extremely happy to share Delaine's work with our customers.
