1990s Native American Navajo Made Night Sky Necklace by Calvin Begay

This substantial Sterling silver inlaid "night sky" pendant complete with Navajo man looking up at one of the "mittens" in Mounument Valley. This piece is inlaid with onyx, Sterling silver, picture jasper, serpentine, spiny oyster, opal, turquoise and coral was created by Navajo silversmith Calvin Begay. The "night sky" is filled with stars, planets, a comet and a mother-of-pearl moon. The detail work is pristine . The opposite side of this pendant is heavy overlay featuring a bear claw, symbols for water and migration and at the base a spirit bear. This amazing pendant hangs on five strands of onyx beads accented with Sterling silver and opal beads finished with Sterling silver cones and hook and eye. An amazing piece of Native American art to wear.
