Clowns (Koshare) are not Katsinam, though they are an integral part of Pueblo society. During dances, these characters portray unacceptable Hopi behavior and provide entertainment between ceremonies while reinforcing community values. This is a classic all white (O-oto Tsuku) Hopi clown in an unusual and contemporary pose by Jerel. He is wearing a chili pepper necklace, a denim medicine bag and a bandolier of yucca.
