This wonderful figure sitting with her pot could be selling it or just sitting while she prepares to transfer the water it holds to another pot. This piece was created from a gourd and is dressed in fabric and trimmed with deer suede. Her earrings are Navajo-style turquoise slabs. Her long hair flows down the front of her. This beautiful woman sits freely on a slab of black walnut. Robert tells the story of finding this gourd sitting in the field. He said the bent and twisted gourd was crying out to be chosen, so he took this "sad" gourd home with him. He turned it into a beautiful piece of art.
